The Constitution as a Living Document

The Constitution as a Living Document
As a foundational document, the Constitution of the United States plays a significant role in the US government. Though it was written over 200 years ago, the Constitution still stands as the final word on issues of governance.

Writers Task:
List three historical issues that have been used to debate the different interpretations of the Constitution. Then choose one of those issues to describe in detail. In a four- to five-paragraph essay, use the text of the Constitution, your notes, your own interpretation, and any additional research to explain how the issue supports either loose constructionism or originalism.
