So far, this is narrowly historical and \”social sciency\” rather than broadly humanistic. Some things that might get you to a more humanistic perspective (rather than narrowly historical) are to discuss how slavery in the U.S. differed from slavery in other societies, such as Rome, or adding some literary, artistic, and religious information. For instance, you might discuss how slave culture contributed to American culture, in addition to how racism has affected African Americans. Or maybe adding how slavery affected families, both white and black. Also, how will you deal with modern slavery, like sex trafficking?
